welcome to in a card's blog...

i know that "cute" is not a word typically used to describe good design, but in my world, it is. if it's your first reaction to say, "aww... how cute!" then it must be just that! "C-U-T-E." and i'm talking about so incredibly, ridiculously cute that the most masculine of men will even say those three words without thinking twice about it.

and so that is what i hope to share with you on my blog...

a combination of really unique ideas, simple thoughts that come randomly into my mind, along with "cute" designs that i've designed or come across.

new simplewear hang tags

i'm such a sucker for cute packaging...

i seriously would buy something just because it was packaged so well. which is why i decided to make my simplewear packaging even more cuter, by having blushing pearl letterpress my simplewear hang tags. look at how adorable they came out...

this ready-made 3 pack set, "sweetest collection," is part of a collection that will be sold in a new boutique called, 34.fourteen

and for those of you NOT in the los angeles area, you can always purchase my simplewear onesies on my etsy shop at simplewear.etsy.com

there's a new boutique opening up in burbank, ca and "in a card" and "simplewear" will be one of the many vendors featured in this new fabulous store!

34.fourteen, a co-op store featuring undiscovered local artists and designers in the LA area is opening it's doors tomorrow, march 1st and having it's grand opening, march 19th from 5-8pm. so grab your most fabulous hat and join us in an alice in wonderland themed "grand un-opening." don't be late for a very important date!!!

"she works hard for the money"

"so hard for it honey..."

ahh... yes, donna summer's song, "she work's hard for the money" pretty much sums up my life right now.

just wanted to say sorry that i haven't been blogging, facebooking, or twittering as much lately. i've been freelancing on site a lot lately and then coming home to work on other projects.

don't get me wrong though, i'm not complaining about the work. i actually really appreciate it with so many people struggling to keep a job or even finding one right now.

so a BIG thanks to those of you that have been spreading the word and referring me to friends, families and colleagues!!! you guys are the best-est!!!

stay tuned for new posts about new projects and other CUTE things in the works...  (and hopefully i'll squeeze in sometime in between all that to re-do the website.)

simplewear's #1 fan

simplewear came to be, the day my nephew came to life.

the idea of decorating my sister's baby shower with a string of clothespin hung baby onesies just wasn't good enough for me.

as a graphic designer and owner of "in a card", i knew i wanted to make each onesie extra special and very personal for my nephew. so the idea of individually styling the onesie and customizing each one came to be.

with so many inquiries on the customized onesies from the baby shower, i knew i had to pursue this idea.

and so, simplewear was created.

almost 4 years later, my sister FINALLY comes around to sharing pictures of my nephew wearing his first simplewear onesie. i guess, better late then never, right? lol...

check out my nephew lucas in the "made with love by" onesie available for purchase at simplewear.etsy.com

thanks mommy/sister ilona for sharing this adorable picture!
the "made with love by" onesie is simplewear's #1 selling design and has been used in many ways to welcome and announce the birth of a new baby.  it's so wonderful to hear that simplewear has become such a huge part in announcing one of life's greatest gifts!

if you have a picture of your little one in a simplewear design, i invite you to become a fan and welcome you to share pictures on my facebook fan page.
