welcome to in a card's blog...
i know that "cute" is not a word typically used to describe good design, but in my world, it is. if it's your first reaction to say, "aww... how cute!" then it must be just that! "C-U-T-E." and i'm talking about so incredibly, ridiculously cute that the most masculine of men will even say those three words without thinking twice about it.
and so that is what i hope to share with you on my blog...
a combination of really unique ideas, simple thoughts that come randomly into my mind, along with "cute" designs that i've designed or come across.
this...
doing yoga on the rooftop of, my instructor,
mary beth's home in venice beach, on a lovely wednesday evening in march, while the sun sets over the pacific and the cool fresh ocean breeze passes by.
i felt like i was really seeing the sun set for the first time tonight.
pure bliss.
a little reminder to my fellow busy bees out there...
don't forget to stop and smell the roses!
sometimes people can get stuck doing the same thing from day to day, weekend to weekend. even what we eat sometimes can become routine. but living in LA, we are blessed with so many different options, ALL YEAR LONG! and i'm truly blessed because i have great people around me to enjoy and try all these things with.
with us "springing" forward today, this means we get more daylight to enjoy bike rides along the beach and discover new hiking trails. you gotta' love LA!
i love getting emails that say, "i googled cupcake invitations, came across
yours and I MUST HAVE THEM for my daughters birthday!"
actually, it's always pretty amazing when someone emails me AND chooses me to create invitations for their special occasion because there are so many other options available online these days.
i'll eventually get around to creating matching notecards for all my
little invites. but for now, they will just slowly be created as they become requested by my customers. :)
happy to announce the little cowboy invites now have a coordinating notecard set and are available for purchase on my
Etsy shop.

my cousin,
nadia siswanto, received her family & marriage therapy license last year and since has started her own private practice. it's been fun giving her new business tips and helping her brand herself and her practice. she's always been a very do-it-yourself kind of gal, so it was no surprise when she worked on creating her own website,
sfvalleytherapy.com. based on the website, i helped her create business cards and this promotional flyer.
to learn more about nadia and her practice please visit her
website.
i came across this manifesto by
workisnotajob. yesterday and i thought it was fitting that i share it with you today.
i've been feeling super guilty lately because i haven't been blogging much and it's because i've been working A LOT! i've had several projects going on at once, keeping up with my Etsy shops, dealing with super fast turnaround times, many late nights and sometimes feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all, but somehow as i sit here, writing this blog, i feel happy. yes, even as i sit here in front of my computer on a friday night. maybe it's the extra day of yoga i had this week. or maybe it's simply like this manifesto says and that i just love what i do. so yes, i agree, work is not a job, but simply the transfer of energy.
i hope you'll forgive me for not blogging lately. i've at least been taking pictures of all my projects, so hopefully i will get a chance to post and share them with you soon.
wishing you lots of love on this valentine's day...
these two cute little hedgehogs are actually little dryer balls. aren't they cute? and practical too! i like my clothes to come out of the dryer soft and fluffy, but i hate having to use fabric softener, so i got these guys to do the job for me. they are designed by
kikkerland design and you can buy your own set
here.
my
little shower invitation, got a little twist recently. i had a custom request for the invitation to be all pink with really cute wording to go with the imagery. little registry inserts were added to the invitation along with matching thank you notes.
if you like this set or want to create a custom set of your own,
email me and i'd be happy to help you announce your next party.
my yoga instructor,
mary beth, aka mb, recently updated her
website and i was so excited when she asked me to help create a tank top for her to wear for her photoshoot. she wanted the words "blissed" across the tank similar to the type face she uses on the header of her
blog, "ananda," which means bliss in sanskrit.
blissed pretty much sums up the way i feel after every single one of mb's classes. you should check her out sometime whether you're already into yoga or just discovering it for the first time. her classes are always full of fun, sweat and great music! she
teaches at a couple yoga studios over on the westside, or if you're not local, you can catch her class
online.
